Ocean Network Express (ONE), a container operator founded by Japanese shipping corporations NYK, MOL, and K Line, announced the acquisition of a minority stake in Dalian Container Terminal (DCT) in the Port of Dalian. The size of the stake and financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. ONE emphasized that the investment is strategic and aimed at ensuring sustainable access to key ports in Northeast China.

MCC Director Erkin Yelenov noted that the branch’s main priority remains ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the IT infrastructure, automated systems, and information systems for rail transport. Today, the MCC serves the entire KTZ group of companies, private carriers, and third-party organizations, providing support for more than 30 information systems and automated workstations across all divisions of the national carrier.

In 2025, Kazakhstan implemented a series of major infrastructure initiatives in transport and logistics aimed at strengthening the country’s transit role and developing international routes. In the railway sector, the 836-kilometer Dostyk-Moiynty line was commissioned, increasing capacity on the Kazakhstan-China route fivefold. Construction of the Almaty bypass line is nearing completion, and key projects have been initiated and are ongoing on the Moiynty-Kyzylzhar, Darbaza-Maktaral, and Ayagoz-Bakhty sections, laying the foundation for further growth in freight traffic.

ERSAI Industrial Port has begun implementing a strategic dredging project for the waters and approach channel of the port of Kuryk, aimed at increasing operational depths to five meters and ensuring stable navigation throughout the year. The project is fully financed by the company’s own funds and is considered a key step in the development of port infrastructure in the Caspian Sea.

In January–November 2025, freight traffic volumes across the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy network reached 287.9 ​​million tons, a 4% increase compared to the same period last year. Export traffic increased by 6.5% to 80.2 million tons, while domestic traffic increased by 2.5% to 161.4 million tons, confirming the company’s steady growth in transportation activities.

The Kostanay freight branch of KTZ – Freight Transportation LLC continues to demonstrate steady growth in container shipment volumes. According to Kenes Dyusekeyev, Head of the Branch’s Logistics Department, during the first 11 months of 2025, 22,905 flatcars with a total weight of 1.377 million tons and 44,552 containers were loaded, forming 704 block trains.

The volume of transit rail traffic on the network of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is demonstrating steady positive dynamics. At the end of 2024, transit amounted to 27.5 million tons, and for the first 11 months of 2025, this figure has already reached 27.9 million tons, exceeding the entire previous year’s total. However, transit remains a relatively small portion of the company’s overall freight turnover.

In January-November 2025, freight traffic volumes on the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy network reached 287.9 ​​million tonnes, a 4% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was driven by both export routes and the domestic market: export shipments totaled 80.2 million tonnes (+6.5%), while domestic shipments increased to 161.4 million tonnes, up 2.5% year-on-year.
