Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are creating a joint venture for dredging operations in ports.

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have agreed to establish a joint venture to acquire a dredging vessel and carry out dredging operations in the ports of both countries. The corresponding agreement was signed between representatives of AZCON Holding and Samruk-Kazyna Invest. During the meeting, the parties also discussed expanding cooperation in transport and logistics.

A key focus of the project will be increasing the capacity of port infrastructure, which is seen as an important factor in increasing cargo flows and the efficiency of maritime shipping. Particular attention is being paid to jointly implementing dredging operations necessary to maintain and develop port capacity in the Caspian Sea region.

The initiative aims to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries and create a more resilient logistics infrastructure. The project’s implementation should facilitate the development of the port network and expand opportunities for international trade through the transport corridors of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
