Logistics company DACHSER has completed the expansion of its logistics center in Freiburg, Germany. The project saw the commissioning of a new refrigerated terminal for handling food shipments, alongside increased capacity for transshipping industrial and consumer goods.
A key feature of the upgrade is a new refrigerated transit area covering approximately 3,200 square meters, designed to store and handle products at temperatures between 2 and 7 degrees Celsius. This facility will handle various food categories, including meat products, dairy, wine, alcoholic beverages, and baked goods. Equipped with 32 loading docks, the terminal is set to accelerate loading and unloading processes. This expansion also marks the introduction of the DACHSER Food Logistics division to the Freiburg location. The company manages food transport operations across 10 countries and serves 34 countries via the European Food Network. In 2025, the Food Logistics division achieved a turnover of €1.8 billion.
Concurrently, DACHSER expanded its industrial goods handling area by 2,700 square meters. This new section features eight loading docks and connects to existing warehouse facilities, ensuring seamless operational integration. The new infrastructure came online in early June and is expected to boost the efficiency of the company’s Freiburg logistics center.
