In Germany, DB Cargo and DHL Freight have increased capacity on their Parcel Intercity service with 12 additional freight trains per week. Since May 2026, new and revised connections have strengthened links between Hamburg, Nuremberg and Kornwestheim, targeting faster transit times and defined schedules for parcel and forwarding traffic.
The additional paths follow a review of existing services and provide extra capacity for time-sensitive shipments between northern and southern Germany. Parcel Intercity connects major logistics hubs using scheduled rail services designed for parcel flows.

In Switzerland, SBB Cargo has secured Swiss Post Cargo Italia as a customer for its CombiLink combined transport service between Dietikon and Stabio. The agreement covers the transport of at least 4,000 semi-trailers by the end of 2026 on the north–south axis between Italy and Switzerland.
Semi-trailers are transferred from road to rail in Stabio and transported overnight to Dietikon, with onward distribution by road. Empty trailers return to Stabio on daytime services, linking the Zurich region with the Mendrisio area in cross-border combined transport.
