In March, the DB Port Szczecin terminal, in collaboration with Heavy Lift, completed a complex transshipment operation involving two transformers weighing over 350 tons each. These cargoes were among the heaviest the terminal had handled in recent memory.
The handling was accomplished using skidding, a highly precise and safe technology that allows for the movement of extremely heavy structures without the use of traditional cranes. This allowed the transformers to be carefully moved and loaded onto barges for onward sea transport.
The company emphasizes that such projects demonstrate DB Port Szczecin’s capabilities not only in standard cargo handling but also in complex logistics operations that require experience, precision, and coordinated teamwork.
