Kazlogistics participated in the regional SPECA seminar on developing transport connectivity in Central Asia.

STC “Kazlogistics,” represented by Mukhtar Tolegen, Executive Director for Transport Logistics, participated in the regional seminar “Strengthening Transport Connectivity and Competitiveness in the SPECA Region,” held in Almaty from May 13 to 15. The event was organized within the framework of the GIZ Trade Facilitation in Central Asia program and the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, with the support of the German government and co-financing from the European Union, in cooperation with UNECE and UNESCAP. The meeting brought together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, the business community, and experts from the transport and logistics sectors of the region’s countries.

Key themes of the seminar included the development of transport connectivity, infrastructure modernization, and the digitalization of logistics and transit processes. Participants discussed the implementation of electronic document management and digital solutions – including eCMR, eTIR, and e-Permit – as well as the integration of national digital platforms with international systems. Particular attention was devoted to the development of transport corridors, the updating of infrastructure strategies, and the improvement of international legal mechanisms in the transport sector. International organizations – including UNECE, UNESCAP, UNCTAD, the IRU, and Expertise France – presented current initiatives and best practices, while national experts shared their experiences in implementing reforms.

On the final day, participants visited the “KTZE-Khorgos Gateway” dry port, where they gained insight into the operations of one of the region’s largest multimodal logistics hubs. Following the seminar, a set of recommendations was formulated aimed at strengthening regional cooperation, developing sustainable transport systems, and further implementing digital solutions across the countries of Central Asia.
