KTZ and Polish Railways have increased their transportation volumes by 1.5 times as the parties strengthen their cooperation on the Trans-Caucasian Railway (TITR).

A working meeting between Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, and Alan Beroud, CEO of Polish State Railways and Chairman of the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies, took place at the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy building. The talks were held as part of the anniversary events of the Organisation for Cooperation between Railways and focused on developing bilateral cooperation and strengthening ties within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

The parties discussed expanding cooperation in freight transportation between KTZ and Polish operators, as well as exchanging experience in implementing modern energy solutions, including decarbonization and environmentally friendly technologies. It was noted that, by the end of the first quarter of 2026, the volume of rail traffic between Kazakhstan and Poland had increased 1.5-fold, reaching 752,000 tons.

Positive dynamics are also being recorded in the structure of Kazakhstan’s exports: coal shipments to Poland increased sixfold, chemical product shipments increased 2.8-fold, and grain exports increased significantly. At the same time, Kazakhstan’s role as a transit country is strengthening: container shipments between China and Poland increased by 44% over the first three months, reaching 75,400 TEUs. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to further developing their partnership within the Trans-Caucasian Transport Route (TITR).
