KTZ Express, a subsidiary of JSC NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy,” has carried out a pilot project to transport passenger cars in specialized containers along the international rail route connecting Chongqing (China), Dostyk (Kazakhstan), and Vorsino (Russia). The project was implemented in partnership with the China Railway Container Transport Corporation (CRCT) and Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd., the latter acting as the train’s consignor.
The shipment utilized 55 specialized 40-foot containers designed for vehicle transport. A total of 182 Changan passenger cars were transported. KTZ Express managed freight forwarding across the 1,520 mm gauge railway network, organizing the transportation process within Kazakhstan and overseeing the subsequent transit along the Eurasian route.
A key feature of the project was the use of new, versatile 40-foot containers with a 35-tonne load capacity, specifically engineered for transporting passenger cars. This technology enhances delivery safety, optimizes logistics processes, and expands container transport capabilities for the automotive industry. KTZ Express noted that the launch of this service strengthens transport links between China, Kazakhstan, and Russia while fostering the development of modern solutions for international rail freight.
