Spanish logistics productivity rises in 2026.

Spain’s transport and distribution sectors ranked among the country’s most productive industries in 2026, according to new data presented during the Spanish Logistics Centre (CEL) Transport Forum in Coslada.

The figures, drawn from the 5th Adecco Outsourcing Productivity and Efficiency Barometer, show that overall productivity in Spain reached 58.6 points out of 100 in 2026, up 2.3 points year-on-year.

Within that, transport scored 63.5 points and distribution 63.4 points, placing both sectors above the national average and among the strongest-performing parts of the economy.

The study also highlighted the role of training in operational performance. According to the data, 71% of companies already run training plans, with productivity gains of up to 10% in most cases and even higher improvements in nearly one in four companies.

Beyond the numbers, the forum also pointed to ongoing structural pressures across the supply chain, including geopolitical uncertainty, cost pressure and the need for stronger interoperability, digitalisation and multimodal coordination.

For the rail and logistics sector, the main takeaway is that efficiency and information flows are becoming as important as infrastructure, particularly as Spain seeks to strengthen its position as an international logistics hub.
