Air cargo company Teleport announced the expansion of its network with the opening of a new European hub at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW). The new route strengthens connectivity between Asia and key European markets, including Frankfurt and Amsterdam, and aims to improve the efficiency of cargo flows from China, India, and Southeast Asia.
The network expansion allows for more flexible routing of long-haul shipments. An example of an already implemented logistics chain includes a shipment from Vietnam to Frankfurt via Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, and Istanbul, followed by delivery to Germany. The new route reduces reliance on direct routes and optimizes transit operations.
The development of the Istanbul hub was implemented in collaboration with Turkish Cargo and is seen as an important step in expanding Teleport’s global presence. The integration of Istanbul into the company’s network should improve connectivity between Asian and European markets and strengthen logistics links between regions.
