The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved a roadmap for the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Interoperability of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) among EAEU Member States. The document defines a set of measures aimed at coordinating the work of national ITS and implementing best practices for their creation and development.
According to the plan, interoperability between the systems will be ensured through the Integrated Information System of the EAEU. Implementation of the roadmap is expected to define a list of basic services, develop unified data exchange formats, establish a regulatory framework, and establish practical cooperation between the member states. This was announced by Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister for Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The integration of intelligent transport systems is expected to create a unified information space for the EAEU, where carriers will be able to receive standardized data on weather conditions, road accidents, and other factors affecting traffic. According to Arzybek Kozhoshev, given the differences in the level of ITS implementation across the member states, creating a seamless digital space is particularly important.
