The PRESPORT project, implemented under the Interreg VI A Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 cross-border cooperation program, aims to accelerate the environmental and digital transformation of ports in Italy and Croatia. The initiative is funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the strategic projects category, with a total budget of €7.5 million. The Port Authority of Rijeka will receive €525,600 for the implementation of key solutions. The project will run from July 1, 2025, to December 31, 2028.

PRESPORT brings together government agencies, ports, and logistics representatives to develop and test tools designed to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the Adriatic region. The project includes joint pilot actions and strategic investments in five priority areas: energy efficiency and renewable energy, smart lighting and climate resilience measures, e-mobility in port operations, digitalization using digital twins and multimodal planning, and strengthening port security.

According to the Port of Rijeka Authority, participation in PRESPORT will accelerate innovation and improve infrastructure management, making port hubs safer, more environmentally friendly, and prepared for the future demands of European logistics.
