Renata Godja: Development of Romania’s transport and logistics infrastructure. New routes and transit through Romania.

Commercial Director of Carpatica Feroviar Romania Renata Godja, speaking at the BLACK SEA TRANSPORT CORRIDORS 2026: PORTS, RAILWAYS, SHIPPING conference, presented the company as a new national player ready to challenge stagnation in the freight transport market. The company operates an impressive asset base of 200 locomotives and 6,450 wagons, maintained in seven in-house workshops across the country. The speaker emphasized that in a rapidly changing logistics environment, railways must become the “green” backbone of the economy.

One of the most striking points of the presentation was the establishment of 25 operational zones providing 24/7 response. This represents an unprecedented level of service for a state operator, focused on critical sectors such as defense, energy, and oil. Renata Godja stressed that the company’s goal is not merely to transport cargo, but to redefine industry standards through innovation.

The Middle Corridor was a key focus. Carpatica Feroviar is already developing a strategic partnership with Malbi-trans and plans to launch regular services this year along the Constanța – Kortrijk – Czech Republic route. Intensive negotiations are underway with the railway administrations of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to create a seamless logistics chain from Asia to Europe.

The company’s financial ambitions are equally impressive: reaching a turnover of €500 million by the end of 2026, followed by annual growth of 10%. To achieve this, the operator plans to complete the recruitment of 2,500 employees and fully digitalize resource management. Renata Godja expressed confidence that Romania’s geographic position and the support of the Ministry of Transport will make Carpatica Feroviar a key link between Asia and the EU.

“We aim to redefine industry standards through innovation and digitalization. Our task is to integrate rail services into door-to-door supply chains, leveraging Romania’s unique geographic position as a bridge between Asia and Europe.”
