Ukraine has approved a civil aviation development strategy through 2030.

The Ukrainian government has approved a civil aviation development strategy extending to 2030 and established an Interagency Coordination Center to prepare for the resumption of air travel. This was announced by Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development. The document was drafted by a working group under the Ministry of Development and forms part of the process of aligning the country’s transport system with European Union standards.

Astral Aviation resumes cargo flights between China and South Africa.

The Kenyan cargo airline Astral Aviation has announced the resumption of scheduled cargo flights between Haikou, China, and Johannesburg. The project is being implemented jointly with the Dubai-based company Fly Noor Aviation Services FZCO following the signing of a strategic agreement at the Air Cargo China 2026 exhibition in Shanghai. The document was signed by Astral Aviation CEO Sanjeev Gadhia and Fly Noor head Damanpreet Singh.

Cargolux has settled the lawsuit in Luxembourg regarding its operations in Gabon.

On July 1, 2026, the cargo airline Cargolux Airlines International acknowledged a Luxembourg court ruling approving an agreement reached with the country’s public prosecutor’s office as part of criminal proceedings. The case concerns allegations of trading in influence linked to the carrier’s operations in Gabon between 2010 and 2015. The investigation focuses exclusively on the Cargolux corporate entity and does not involve individual employees or company executives.

Centralny Port Komunikacyjny received permission to build the airport’s eastern railway hub.

The Governor of the Masovian Voivodeship has issued a location decision to the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) company for the eastern railway hub of the future national airport, part of the Port Polska program. The document has been granted immediate enforceability, allowing the operator to begin the process of obtaining construction permits for the railway and associated infrastructure, as well as to designate new land parcels for inclusion in the investment zone.

SAS is investing over $10 billion in fleet expansion and the development of cargo operations.

SAS has announced the largest investment in its history: an order for up to 40 wide-body Airbus aircraft aimed at strengthening Scandinavia’s international connectivity. According to Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS, this program – valued at over $10 billion – marks a new phase of development for the airline, which has connected the region to global markets for 80 years. The deal includes the delivery of new Airbus A330-900neo aircraft as well as additional A330-300s, which will boost capacity ahead of the arrival of the next generation of aircraft.

SolitAir launched its first cargo flight to the EU, connecting Dubai and Sofia.

Air cargo carrier SolitAir has operated its inaugural flight on the Dubai–Sofia route, marking the launch of its first service to the European Union. This new route was made possible by the company obtaining ACC3 certification from the Belgian aviation authority, authorizing the carrier to transport cargo and mail into the EU and the European Economic Area in compliance with aviation security regulations.
