Icelandic carrier Odin Cargo has signed a long-term lease agreement with Bulgaria’s Compass Cargo Airlines for a Boeing 737-800SF freighter. Finalized in June, the deal enables the company to expand its air cargo network and further develop an existing, successful route while ensuring consistent service for its customers.
Latvian airline airBaltic may require additional financial support to continue operations, stated Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs. He noted that the government intends to first review the carrier’s updated business plan and assess whether the company can transition to a sustainable financial model without ongoing state aid.

The Governor of the Masovian Voivodeship has issued a location decision to the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) company for the eastern railway hub of the future national airport, part of the Port Polska program. The European aerospace group Airbus has secured a €1 billion loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB). These funds represent the first tranche of a €3.4 billion financial package designed to support the company’s research and development activities.
Air cargo carrier SolitAir has operated its inaugural flight on the Dubai–Sofia route, marking the launch of its first service to the European Union. This new route was made possible by the company obtaining ACC3 certification from the Belgian aviation authority, authorizing the carrier to transport cargo and mail into the EU and the European Economic Area in compliance with aviation security regulations.
