Geis Group increased its revenue to a record €2.12 billion and strengthened its position in Europe.

The Geis Group logistics group closed the 2025 financial year with revenue growth of 8.8% to a record high of €2.12 billion. Despite the weak economic environment and high price pressure, the family-owned company was able to strengthen its market position through active integration, internationalization, and digitalization of its business. According to Managing Partners Hans-Wolfgang Geis and Jochen Geis, the key priority for the year was the integration of new assets and strengthening international collaboration within the group.

Austria rail freight volumes rose 1.8% in 2025.

Total volumes rose by 1.7 million tonnes compared with 2024. Domestic traffic grew 3.5% to 28.5 million tonnes, while transit increased 2.7% to 30.0 million tonnes. Cross-border inbound traffic was broadly stable at 21.0 million tonnes (+0.1%) and outbound traffic edged down 0.2% to 16.7 million tonnes.

DSV delivered solid results in Q1 2026 amid the integration of Schenker and a challenging market environment.

Logistics group DSV demonstrated resilient financial performance in the first quarter of 2026 despite challenging global market conditions, geopolitical instability, and pressure on supply chains. EBIT before special items amounted to DKK 4.855 billion, an increase year-on-year, driven primarily by the integration of the acquired Schenker. Total revenue reached DKK 70.4 billion, while gross profit increased by 78.4% to DKK 18.9 billion, reflecting the scale of business expansion and the impact of asset consolidation.

Ukrzaliznytsia and the EBRD will receive 54 million euros in grants for infrastructure, energy and personnel development.

Ukrzaliznytsia, together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with EU support, signed two grant agreements totaling €54 million to implement three strategic development areas for Ukraine’s railway system. According to Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Development of Ukraine and Minister of Communities and Territories Development, the funds are intended to improve infrastructure accessibility, strengthen energy independence, and develop human capital.

The ports of Rijeka and Constanta signed a memorandum of cooperation at the Three Seas Initiative forum in Dubrovnik.

The Port of Rijeka and Constanța authorities agreed to deepen cooperation in maritime transport and port infrastructure development. A memorandum of understanding was signed at the Palace Hotel in Dubrovnik during the Three Seas Initiative and Business Forum, which this year brought together approximately 1,500 participants from 45 countries and reaffirmed the strategic importance of the region between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas for European transport and security flows.

Hupac ended 2025 with a profit of CHF 3.5 million amid infrastructure constraints.

Swiss company Hupac has announced its financial results for the 2025 financial year, which was marked by challenging conditions due to extensive construction work on the European rail network. Despite this, the combined transport operator maintained a positive financial result and earned a profit of CHF 3.5 million. Revenue increased by 3.1% to CHF 646 million, but rising costs and unfavorable exchange rates led to a decline in gross margin to 21.6% and EBIT to 1.9%. Over the year, the company transported approximately 975,000 road shipments, or 1.853 million TEUs. Volumes on Hupac’s key transalpine route through Switzerland increased by 4.5% to 560,000 shipments, including increased freight volumes on the Belgium-Italy corridor.

LKW WALTER launched the Novi Sad – Herne intermodal route for freight from South-Eastern Europe.

Austrian logistics company LKW WALTER has expanded its combined transport network by opening a new, high-capacity route between Novi Sad (Serbia) and Herne (Germany). This line, the first fully integrated train service for freight traffic from countries outside the European Union, aims to strengthen connections between the markets of Southeastern and Northern Europe.
