Container carrier Hapag-Lloyd has signed an agreement with the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) to utilize shore power at all of the port’s terminals. The company confirmed its intention to connect vessels to the onshore grid wherever technically and operationally feasible, and to continue integrating Onshore Power Supply (OPS) technology into its fleet operations.
Logistics company DACHSER has completed the expansion of its logistics center in Freiburg, Germany. The project saw the commissioning of a new refrigerated terminal for handling food shipments, alongside increased capacity for transshipping industrial and consumer goods.
The CMA CGM Group has carried out the first bio-liquefied natural gas (bio-LNG) bunkering operation for its new container ship, the CMA CGM Notre Dame. With a capacity of 24,000 TEU, the vessel is the world’s largest container ship powered by this type of fuel. The volume of bio-LNG supplied totaled 11,125 cubic meters, making this one of the largest operations of its kind globally and the largest bunkering operation in CMA CGM’s history.
DP World Dar Es Salaam has achieved record vessel handling figures and significantly boosted the operational efficiency of the Port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. Since commencing terminal operations in April 2024, the company has undertaken extensive infrastructure upgrades, reducing the discharge time for comparable cargoes by over 90% – from more than 300 hours to under 28 hours.
The Port of Antwerp-Bruges, together with the Flemish Department of Mobility and Public Works and the Left Bank Development Corporation (Maatschappij Linkerscheldeoever), is implementing the Extra Container Capacity Antwerp (ECA) project, which will increase the port’s container capacity by 7 million TEU. The Port of Antwerp-Bruges, together with the Government of Flanders and various partners, is launching a large-scale vehicle emissions monitoring program aimed at accelerating the transition to greener freight transport. Starting May 20, intensified roadside checks will target vehicles with excessively high emission levels. The campaign involves VLABEL, local and federal police forces, and representatives from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Ireland. Inspectors will be supported by GOCA Flanders and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) through the deployment of advanced monitoring tools.

Belgian logistics real estate developer WDP has strengthened its presence in the French market by acquiring two logistics facilities in the towns of Alzonne and Vendargues. The total investment amounted to approximately €52 million, with a combined area of 50,300 square meters. The properties offer an average net operating yield of around 7% and are secured by long-term leases with an average term of approximately seven years.
