The European logistics company GLS has announced the establishment of GLS Türkiye, a new joint venture that will serve as the foundation for the group’s entry into the Turkish market. Established on July 1, 2026, in Amsterdam, the company will operate in one of Europe’s fastest-growing parcel logistics segments.
Özgür F. Kut has been appointed CEO of GLS Türkiye. The joint venture partners include a group of Turkish logistics investors led by Aslan Kut, who played a significant role in developing Turkey’s parcel delivery market. The investor group also includes Turgut Erkeskin, former President of FIATA, and Şerafettin Aras, Chairman of the Board of the transport association UND. The partnership combines GLS’s international network across Europe and North America with the deep local market knowledge and expertise of Turkish transport and distribution professionals.
GLS Group CEO Karl Pfaff highlighted Turkey’s strategic importance as a key transport link between Europe and Asia. He noted that establishing a local presence would enable the company to more effectively serve the growing cross-border flows between Turkey and European countries. GLS Türkiye will operate under the GLS brand, combining the company’s international standards with an approach tailored to local market specifics. The new venture is expected to launch operations before the end of 2026.
