The Ministry of Transport held a meeting dedicated to the development of maritime infrastructure and increasing the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). Participants noted that the TITR is a key transit corridor between the East and the West, and that cargo volumes have more than doubled over the past two years.
TX Logistik AG began operating the first three of 40 modern Vectron locomotives ordered from Siemens Mobility in May 2023. The expansion of the locomotive fleet is a key step for TX Logistik to continue growing in the field of intermodal and cross-border rail freight. The new locomotives will primarily be used on strategically important north-south corridors in Europe, such as the Brenner and Swiss Corridors.

This comprehensive door-to-door, temperature-controlled service is designed for the transport of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and seafood. The launch of the project is connected with the growing demand for fresh produce in Spain, where the efficiency and sustainability of the logistics chain are becoming key requirements.
In Astana, Kazakh Transport Minister Marat Karabayev and Romanian State Counselor Florin Spataru discussed prospects for cooperation in the transport sector. The main topics were the development of sea and rail routes, as well as the digitalization of logistics between the countries.
The EBRD has provided Serbia with a €50 million loan to upgrade its railway infrastructure. The funds will be used to purchase materials for upgrading the track on the reconstructed sections of the railway. The work will last two years and is aimed at improving the reliability and safety of transportation.

voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH and ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) have received funding from the Austrian Ministry of Climate, Environment and Technology (BMK) to implement a pilot project for the digitalization of rail logistics at the Donawitz plant. The project aims to optimize the supply chain and process management, including the implementation of innovative data collection systems and the creation of interfaces to integrate all participants.
In January-September 2024, the cargo turnover of the Port of Shanghai increased by 6% compared to the same period last year and reached 442.21 million tons. Container turnover during this time increased by 8%, reaching 39.1 million TEU.
JSC KTZ Express successfully conducted an experimental shipment of cargo with double-tier container loading via the dry port KTZE – Khorgos Gateway along the Altynkol – Zhetygen – Altynkol route. This technology allows to significantly increase the throughput capacity of transportation, which helps to reduce logistics costs and speed up delivery.
Rijeka Gateway, a joint project between APM Terminals and Enna Group in Croatia, will be powered exclusively by renewable energy, including solar and wind power. The move is aimed at significantly reducing CO2 emissions and other pollutants, making the terminal one of the greenest in the Adriatic.
