JD Logistics has opened a third warehouse in Poland, expanding its logistics network in the country. The new 10,000 sq. m facility is the company’s second site in Warsaw and will provide integrated solutions for cross-border supply chains, improving the efficiency of logistics operations.
In January-February 2025, the cargo turnover of the Port of Shanghai exceeded 9.3 million tons, which is 1% more than the same period last year. Container turnover showed a 7% increase and amounted to 8.9 million TEU.
Tarros Group has launched a direct sea link between Italy and Spain, returning to the Spanish market for the first time in a long time. The first port of call was Barcelona, where the Vento di Levante recently arrived. The new weekly service, developed in collaboration with Insignia Shipping, will speed up shipments between key Italian ports and Spain.
Challenge Group has become an affiliate member of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), confirming its commitment to developing industry cooperation and solving global supply chain issues. Joining the organization will allow the company to strengthen ties with other market players and participate in the formation of logistics standards.
The Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA), owned by Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), will receive funding from the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) for the installation of a 5G network as part of the “DigiTest” initiative. This pilot project aims to create a digital test bed where new use cases for the technology will be tested to improve the efficiency of logistics processes.

In 2024, the Port of Gdansk confirmed its status as the largest seaport in Poland, handling 77.4 million tons of cargo and receiving 3,559 commercial vessels. The company’s revenue reached a record PLN 264 million, which is 24% more than in 2023. The key growth areas were liquid fuels (+5%), general cargo (+2%) and container shipping (+10%). Excluding coal, the total transshipment volume amounted to 69.5 million tons, which is 2.8% more than last year.
A meeting between Deputy Minister Sergey Derkach and the management of airBaltic was held at the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. The visit of the Latvian carrier’s representatives, including First Vice President Tomas Ramdahl and Vice President for Network Development Mantas Vrubljauskas, was devoted to discussing the prospects for resuming flights to Ukraine. By the end of March, traffic on the second track on the Dostyk-Beskol section will be launched in Kazakhstan. This 166-kilometer section is part of the large-scale Dostyk-Moiynty project aimed at developing the country’s railway infrastructure.
Italy is preparing to significantly boost its Ferrobonus programme, increasing funding by €60 million in 2025-2026. The current plan is to allocate €22 million annually until 2026, but the government plans to add another €30 million for each of the following two years. The measure is aimed at supporting rail freight transport, in line with its strategy to reduce harmful emissions and eco-modernise the transport sector.
