DHL Freight has opened a new terminal in Berlin.

DHL Freight has officially opened its new logistics terminal in Berlin’s Marienfelde district. The modern 5,200 m2 complex with 48 loading bays replaces the previous terminal, which had reached its capacity limit. Its central location and environmentally friendly technology make the facility an important logistics hub for the region. The opening ceremony was attended by business and political representatives, including DHL Freight executives and project partners.

Three airports are being built in tourist areas in Kazakhstan.

In Kazakhstan, construction of three new airports has begun in popular resort areas – Zaysan, Katon-Karagay and Kendirli. The projects are being implemented in strategically important locations: in Zaysan, the airport is being built on the basis of the former military airfield named after Satpayev, in Katon-Karagay – between the villages of Katon-Karagay and Ulken Naryn, and in Kendirli it will appear 13 kilometers from the resort area.

ONE launches updated Baltic Bridge Express route calling at the port of Riga.

On January 31, the Port of Riga welcomed the Dutch-flagged container vessel M/V Essence, belonging to the international shipping line Ocean Network Express (ONE), for the first time. The 1,436 TEU vessel will call at the Port of Riga weekly as part of the updated Baltic Bridge Express (BBX) route, connecting the largest ports in Europe: Rotterdam, Klaipeda, Riga, Tallinn and Kotka.

Alstom strengthens its position in Central Asia.

The heaviest transformers in history were unloaded in the port of Lübeck.

Two transformers with a total weight of 572 tonnes have been successfully unloaded at the Nordlandkai terminal in the Port of Lübeck – the heaviest project cargo ever handled at the port. The operation was carried out by Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft (LHG) together with the heavy-duty transport specialists Thömen Spedition (Hamburg) and Baumann Move (Bornheim). The equipment, manufactured by Hitachi Energie in Bad Honnef, was transported to Lübeck on the River Trader from Rotterdam.

KTZ opened double-track traffic on the Moiynty-Balkhash section ahead of schedule.

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) announced the early launch of double-track freight traffic on the Moiynty-Balkhash section as part of the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk-Moiynty railway line. On the 127-kilometer section, work has been completed to connect the signaling, centralization and blocking systems, and the new infrastructure has successfully passed the test of a mobile diagnostic complex.
