Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Talgat Aldybergenov held a meeting with the Governor of Sichuan Province Shi Xiaolin. The main topic of the talks was the creation of joint dry ports in Chengdu and on the territory of Kazakhstan, which will expand transport and logistics cooperation and increase the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries.

The project is being implemented on the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, given after the visit of the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping in June of this year. During the meeting, the parties also discussed the development of agricultural logistics: the construction of specialized grain terminals and warehouse infrastructure is designed to strengthen Kazakhstan’s position in foreign markets. Today, the country annually exports about 8-9 million tons of grain, and new projects will help increase supplies to China and the countries of Southeast Asia.
Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is already implementing successful joint initiatives with China – in Lianyungang, Khorgos and Xi’an. These projects have become important elements in the formation of a sustainable partnership, and new agreements open up additional prospects for deepening cooperation in the transport and agricultural sectors.
