The Government of Kazakhstan has made a number of decisions aimed at implementing the President’s instructions to expand the country’s transport and transit potential. The Ministries of Transport and Finance, together with the Border Service of the National Security Committee, have been instructed to speed up and improve the quality of public services at interstate checkpoints in order to eliminate cargo delays at the border.
According to Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, by 2028 the fleet of passenger cars will exceed 3 thousand units, which will solve the problem of worn-out stock. At the same time, private carriers face difficulties in updating their fleet, so the Ministry of Transport has been instructed to develop support measures to improve the quality of passenger and freight transportation.
In addition, the Ministries of Industry, Construction and Transport have been instructed to prepare standard agreements for a gradual increase in the localization of mechanical engineering products and provide manufacturers with long-term contracts, which will stimulate the development of domestic production.
