According to the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, in the first half of 2025, Germany’s foreign trade turnover with 29 countries in Central, Eastern, Southeastern Europe and Central Asia increased by 2% and reached 275 billion euros, which is 5.4 billion euros more than a year earlier. At the same time, German exports to these regions increased by 2.2% to 144 billion euros, while Germany’s total exports decreased by 0.1% to 786 billion euros.
Poland stands out in particular, with which trade reached a record 90 billion euros (+5.4%). Exports from Germany to Poland increased to 49.4 billion euros (+5.7%) and exceeded deliveries to China (41.4 billion euros), while imports from Poland increased by 5.2% to 40.6 billion euros.
The Czech Republic also remains an important partner: trade turnover with it increased by 3.4% to 57.8 billion euros. German exports to the country amounted to 26.6 billion euros (+1.6%), while imports amounted to 31.2 billion euros (+5%).
