Kazakhstan plans to earn up to 5 trillion tenge annually from transit potential.

Kazakhstan’s Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev said that the use of the country’s advantageous geographical location could bring the budget up to 5 trillion tenge annually. He announced this at a press conference in the government, emphasizing that investments in infrastructure, including the expansion of the Dostyk-Moiynty section, would have a powerful economic effect.

According to calculations by JSC NC KTZ, profits from the implementation of such projects could reach 4.4 trillion tenge by 2035. However, the minister noted that given the current pace of development, this figure could be reached much earlier.

Today, Kazakhstan already receives about 400 billion tenge from road transit and up to 180 billion tenge from air transit. According to Sauranbayev, five trillion tenge per year is the minimum realistic target that the country is capable of receiving using its transit potential.
