KTZ and Turkish TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. join forces to develop the Middle Corridor.

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy signed a cooperation agreement with the Turkish railway operator TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkey. The document is aimed at expanding freight traffic along the Middle Corridor route and provides for the creation of regular rail service between the two countries.

The parties agreed to increase transportation volumes on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars section, increase capacity between China and Europe/Africa, and simplify transit, customs and administrative procedures. Active coordination of logistics operations is planned to speed up delivery and optimize routes.

Special attention is paid to digitalization: the companies intend to introduce paperless document flow for tracking containers and wagons. KTZ emphasizes that the partnership with Turkey will be an important step in strengthening Kazakhstan’s transport and transit potential and its position on the global logistics map.
