Ukraine and Austria are strengthening cooperation in logistics and the international postal arena.

Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Andriy Bratus held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Ukraine Martin Robert Müller. The main topic was mutual assistance in the elections to the governing bodies of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which will be held in September 2025 in Dubai. Ukraine is applying for membership in the Administrative Council and the Postal Operations Council of the UPU, which will allow it to influence international rules in the field of postal logistics and strengthen international cooperation.

The parties also discussed key logistics priorities of Ukraine: adaptation of border railway infrastructure to EU standards, modernization of seaports affected by russian attacks, renewal of international road crossings and integration into the TEN-T transport network. These areas remain strategically important for the restoration and development of Ukrainian logistics.

According to Ambassador Müller, Austria continues to support Ukraine in the transport and infrastructure sectors. An Austrian government delegation is expected to visit one of the Ukrainian ports in the near future, confirming Vienna’s interest in deepening bilateral cooperation.
