Philippine Airlines and Cargo One launch digital cargo services.

Berlin-based air cargo booking platform Cargo One has announced a new partnership with Philippine Airlines (PAL). The collaboration will enable the airline to expand its marketing capabilities for digital bookings and will increase its widebody fleet, which is currently undergoing expansion.

From this fall season, freight forwarders will be able to access PAL’s cargo capacity for general and perishable cargo via the Cargo One platform. Cargo can be routed to cities such as Cebu, Clark and Dawo via PAL hubs. Philippine Airlines is now among the more than 60 airlines partnering with Cargo One, offering freight forwarders connections to 37 international destinations in Southeast and East Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East, as well as 32 destinations within the Philippines.

Moritz Claussen, co-chairman and founder of Cargo One, expressed his excitement about the launch of digital sales for PAL and the support for the company’s ambitious growth plans. In turn, Jason Siy, PAL’s vice president of freight transportation, noted that the ability to manage strategic digital sales is a key element of the company’s digital transformation, which will allow it to quickly develop digital channels with minimal costs.
