DB SCHENKER has joined Cathay Corporate SAF’s sustainable aviation fuel programme, becoming a new member of the cargo aviation community. With its participation in the program, DB SCHENKER confirms its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and has become the largest contributor to this program to date.
Back in 2020, DB SCHENKER became the first company in the logistics industry to operate a full charter expedition using sustainable aviation fuel. Since then, DB SCHENKER has continued to actively push the boundaries of sustainability in air cargo transport. The recent collaboration with Cathay Pacific expands their network of airlines with which DB SCHENKER already has extensive sustainable aviation fuel partnerships, including Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa.
The SAF Corporate Program was established in 2022 to combat climate change by providing members with the opportunity to purchase sustainable aviation fuel for transport on Cathay Pacific and Cathay Cargo flights from Hong Kong and other network ports. By joining the program and committing to purchase 878 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (equivalent to 290,000 US gallons), DB SCHENKER has demonstrated its commitment to reducing the climate footprint of its air cargo operations.
