Rhenus, the international logistics specialist, is overhauling its groupage freight solutions for European road transport, introducing the innovative Groupage Network 2.0. Implemented across its entire European network from January 8, 2024, the restructuring aims to significantly reduce delivery times and enhance departure frequencies for customers. Groupage Network 2.0 offers daily connections throughout the continent, regardless of the customer’s location, meeting the increasing time-sensitive demands of global supply chains.
With the new cross-border traffic structure, Rhenus ensures daily departures from every European region, transforming its road freight service to provide swift and reliable deliveries. The efficient hub structure, involving various countries, facilitates daily processing of imports and exports. Cargo moves through country gateways to central European hubs, streamlining consolidation based on destination before onward delivery. The enhanced frequency in general cargo forwarding eliminates transit time “blank areas” on the European map, offering customers faster trading routes with a projected 34 percent reduction in transit times compared to 2023.
Moreover, Rhenus introduces the concept of “Transport-Related Warehousing,” enabling customers to combine daily transport services with local warehouse and transhipment options. This approach provides flexible logistics operations with efficient scalability, aligning closely with customer needs. The structural shift to Groupage Network 2.0 reflects Rhenus’ commitment to delivering faster, more transparent, and quality-oriented services across its extensive pan-European road traffic network, encompassing over 150 Rhenus locations.
