The Aktau seaport has announced its impressive capacity to process up to 70,000 containers annually, meeting the needs of exporters, importers, and supporting transit cargo flow. It is anticipated that with the equipment upgrade scheduled for 2025, this figure will increase to 100,000 containers annually.
The active development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, the North-South corridor, and other directions could lead to a fivefold increase in transport volumes through the Aktau port in the medium term. According to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, by 2030-2035, this growth could reach no less than 1 million containers annually with the development of transport and logistics infrastructure.
As part of the port’s strategic development, steps are planned for the modernization of existing facilities, expansion of infrastructure, and improvement of access routes. If successfully implemented, these measures will increase the throughput capacity of the Aktau port to 960,000 containers annually, attracting the interest of major global logistics companies looking to expand their operations in the region.
