Rhenus Road Freight is revolutionizing its European groupage freight network with the introduction of Groupage Network 2.0, a system aimed at optimizing structural processes. The initiative, currently undergoing a successful pilot phase in several European countries, with a focus on Germany, is set to enhance daily cross-border transport services. By streamlining operations, Rhenus aims to reduce transit times and significantly improve long-term reliability, benefiting customers across the continent.
Groupage Network 2.0 is a comprehensive project involving all Rhenus Road Freight national organizations in Europe, demonstrating a commitment to equal participation. Over a two-year period, extensive collaboration has taken place to establish more efficient processes, ensuring a clear advantage for customers. The central objective is to transport a larger proportion of consignments in significantly shorter times with maximum reliability, addressing the challenges faced in less industrialized regions.
Rhenus, a pioneer in consolidated road services since 1962, is taking a groundbreaking step by connecting all European regions on a daily basis through the Groupage Network 2.0 system. The company’s commitment is further emphasized by the establishment of a central European hub in Hilden, North Rhine-Westphalia. This strategic hub not only facilitates short routes for main transport services but also enables daily connections between European destination regions, fostering efficiency, improved load factors, and shorter delivery times. With a focus on achieving a premium service with transit times of no more than 96 hours for nearly 90 percent of consignments, Rhenus is not only enhancing operational efficiency but also elevating transparency within the network. The Groupage Network 2.0 is poised to become a standard European communications platform, providing customers with consistent service promises across all locations and countries.
