The Austrian Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is planning to establish its representation in Kazakhstan in response to the country’s head of state’s call for the development of its transportation and logistics potential. Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport, Marat Karabayev, conducted a series of meetings with international companies to discuss issues related to the development of the country’s transportation infrastructure. During one of these meetings with Rail Cargo Group representative Daniel Dezso, possibilities of the company joining the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) Association and opening a representation in Kazakhstan were explored.
Other foreign companies are also expressing interest in investing in Kazakhstan’s transportation infrastructure. For instance, the Turkish S Sistem Lojistik is considering investments in the construction and management of a new cargo terminal at Aktobe Airport, while Albayrak Group from Turkey is prepared to invest in the modernization of the infrastructure of the Caspian Sea port. These initiatives aim to ensure seamless cargo transportation and increase shipment volumes through the Trans-Caspian route, which holds strategic significance amid the growing freight traffic between China and Europe. Minister Karabayev emphasized the government’s readiness to support these initiatives as part of its commitment to enhancing the country’s transportation and logistics potential.
