Ellerman City Liners launches iPEX 3 express service between Poland and Spain.

Ellerman City Liners announced the launch of a new weekly short-sea express service, iPEX 3, linking the port of Gdynia in Poland with Bilbao in Spain. The new route is part of the Poland Express network expansion and is designed to meet the growing needs of European trade, offering customers fast and environmentally friendly short-sea logistics solutions.

The iPEX 3 service operates on a direct Gdynia-Bilbao-Gdynia route and offers some of the shortest transit times on the market. Ellerman City Liners complements the maritime component with specialized intermodal solutions, including rail connections to key inland hubs such as Madrid and Tarragona in Spain, as well as Lodz in Poland, enabling efficient door-to-door delivery chains.

The new service also underscores Ellerman City Liners’ commitment to sustainability: switching from road to shortsea shipping reduces CO₂ emissions by more than 50% without sacrificing speed or reliability. Using uncongested ports and terminals reduces the risk of delays and increases operational stability. The company notes that the launch of iPEX 3 is part of a long-term investment in the development of shortsea shipping and strengthens Ellerman City Liners’ position as a provider of flexible and environmentally friendly logistics solutions in Europe.
