The Ministry of Development of Ukraine launched the Transport Data Hub to analyze data in transport and logistics.

The Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine launched the Transport Data Hub, a new analytical platform for working with data in the fields of transport, mobility, and logistics. The launch was announced by Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister for Development of Communities and Territories. According to him, this fundamentally changes the approach to planning transport routes, infrastructure, border processes, and investments, as previously decisions were often made without a full understanding of the actual flows of people and cargo. Now, the government, communities, and businesses have a unified analytical framework for their daily work and decision-making.

As part of the launch, the platform’s first products have already been presented. These include a dashboard on citizen mobility abroad, which shows actual destinations, trip intensity, and changes in demand for transportation, as well as an international bus route dashboard with data on travel directions, route details, border congestion, and route network performance. Furthermore, a study has been prepared on the economic impact of the international bus service reform, with specific indicators of its impact on the economy and the state budget.

As Alexey Kuleba noted, these tools are already available to central and local governments, as well as carriers. They enable route adjustments, infrastructure project planning, community needs assessments, and transportation forecasting based on real data rather than assumptions. The Transport Data Hub will further scale by integrating new data sources and analytical solutions, and next year, a dashboard on internal citizen mobility is planned for launch, which is particularly important for regions where the war has altered population mobility patterns.
