Intermodal transport operator Hupac announced the launch of a new rail service between Duisburg Gateway Terminal (DGT) and Novara CIM, effective January 12, 2026. The project aims to accelerate the shift in freight flows from road to rail and further develop sustainable logistics solutions in Europe.
The new service will operate six pairs of trains per week, providing daily connections between Germany and Italy. The launch of the service will expand Hupac’s network on this route and increase capacity on routes linking two key logistics markets.
By strengthening its presence on the Ruhr-Italy corridor, a key part of the Rhine-Alpine Axis, Hupac improves the reliability and flexibility of its customers’ transport. Using Duisburg Gateway Terminal as a leading European hub also enables the company to offer sustainable logistics solutions connecting northeastern and southeastern Europe with northern and southern Italy.
