In 2025, freight traffic through the Altynkol-Khorgos railway border crossing between Kazakhstan and China exceeded 16.1 million tons, 9% higher than the target agreed upon within the Organization for Cooperation between Railways. This was reported by the press service of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, noting the early and confident fulfillment of planned parameters.
A significant portion of the total volume was accounted for by exports from Kazakhstan to China, which reached 5.3 million tons, exceeding the plan by 20%. Container services contributed significantly to the growth in traffic: 3,589 container trains passed through Altynkol-Khorgos, heading to Europe, Russia, and Central Asia.
KTZ emphasized that the accelerated fulfillment of plans demonstrates the high efficiency of the border crossing and its key role in the development of international transport corridors, and also contributes to the further strengthening of transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
