Craiss Generation Logistik has opened an expanded logistics centre in Weiz.

On February 13, logistics company Craiss Generation Logistik Austria GmbH & Co. KG officially opened its new facilities at its Weiz site. Following the expansion, the facility now provides approximately 40,000 square meters of warehouse and production space for the electrical and energy equipment manufacturer, for whom the operator has managed a dedicated warehouse since 2021. The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 300 guests, including representatives of the company, the client, and regional authorities.

The expansion, which began in October 2024, combined warehouse, production, and office functions on a single site, providing an additional 24,000 square meters of open space and over 1,500 square meters of office space. The new facilities were commissioned in stages: the first logistics halls began operating in September 2025, the production facility, where the client is already performing some pre-assembly operations, was launched in December, and the February opening marked the complex’s full operational capacity. According to Chief Commercial Officer Matthias Diehm, the site has become a showcase for the group’s contract logistics capabilities, including digital data exchange, its own WMS system, and automated solutions.

The company provides services beyond traditional warehousing at the site, including quality control, painting, and custom packaging. CEO Christian Walzl noted that consolidating operations at a single site has reduced transportation, costs, and emissions, including through the use of electric trucks and HVO100 fuel. The center’s energy supply is primarily renewable, including expanded solar generation and an energy storage system, and the site is being considered for future pilot projects using artificial intelligence and digital twins.
