An agreement between the city and the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) was signed at Gdynia City Hall, with the participation of Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak and government representatives. The document provides for the development of a project for the reconstruction or expansion of the Kwiatkowskiego Overpass, as well as its integration with the planned Krasna Doroga (Red Road). This initiative is seen as a key step in the implementation of infrastructure projects impacting transport accessibility and the city’s development.
The Port of Gdynia emphasized that the modernization of access infrastructure is of strategic importance, as it directly impacts the port’s operational efficiency, safety, and the daily comfort of residents. The department noted that the agreement will allow the city to actively participate in the development of design solutions, and the preparation process itself has a clearly structured structure and is based on a collaborative approach.
The role of the Gdynia city authorities and Mayor Aleksandra Kosiorek in promoting the project was particularly noted. The parties emphasized that coordination between the municipality, road services, and government agencies is a prerequisite for the implementation of strategic infrastructure initiatives and ensuring the sustainable development of the region.
