JD Airlines and Beijing Capital Airlines have expanded cargo air service between China and Central Europe by launching regular flights between Urumqi and Warsaw. These flights operate three times weekly and are aimed at strengthening direct logistics links between China and Poland, reducing delivery times, and increasing capacity on this route.
The flights are operated by Airbus A330F cargo aircraft and are primarily focused on import flows to Poland. Urumqi was chosen as the departure point due to its geographical location in western China, which allows for a shorter route to Europe compared to traditional eastern hubs. This allows for faster consolidation of cargo from various regions of the country and expedited delivery of time-sensitive shipments to Central Europe.
Alongside the launch of these flights, Warsaw Airport is expanding its ground infrastructure. Welcome Airport Services is increasing terminal capacity to handle growing cargo volumes and improve operational efficiency. The new route is seen as an important step in developing trade relations between China and Poland and strengthening the role of Central Europe as a key hub in international air logistics.
