Nagel-Group opened a new logistics centre for temperature-controlled food logistics in Gdansk.

Nagel-Group has expanded its temperature-controlled logistics network in Poland with the opening of a new logistics center in Gdansk. Built in partnership with developer LemonTree, the facility is designed to handle sensitive food products. The complex features a variety of storage areas, from temperature-controlled rooms and ultra-fresh rooms to a large cross-docking warehouse. The infrastructure also allows for the integration of additional refrigeration and freezing facilities if needed.

The center places a strong emphasis on sustainability. Heat pumps are used for energy supply, and excess heat from the refrigeration units is reused within the building’s system. The project includes the installation of solar panels and a rainwater collection system, reducing energy consumption and minimizing the facility’s environmental footprint. According to Robert Katafiasz, Managing Director of Nagel Polska, the opening of the center is part of a long-term investment program to modernize the company’s infrastructure in Poland and strengthens the site’s integration into the group’s pan-European network.

The new logistics center is equipped with modern glycol-ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring stable temperatures. The site also features a co-packing area, offering packaging and labeling services, which is especially important for retail clients. As Robert Katafyash noted, the successful launch of the facility was the result of careful planning and close collaboration between all project participants, which enabled the rapid resolution of challenges that arose during the transition to the operational phase.
