AERION has extended its partnership with Royal Brunei Airlines and ECS Group until 2029.

AERION has announced the extension of the three-year partnership between ECS Group and Royal Brunei Airlines, aimed at supporting the carrier’s continued route network expansion alongside planned fleet growth. The new agreement took effect on April 1, 2026, and runs until March 31, 2029. The contract was signed at the Royal Brunei Academy in Bandar Seri Begawan. Under the renewed collaboration, ECS Group will retain its status as the airline’s primary GSSA partner, while AERION will provide strategic coordination, commercial management, and digital support.

Currently, ECS Group represents the airline in 12 countries and 17 cities across Asia, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and North America. In recent years, the partnership has strengthened the airline’s presence in markets such as Indonesia and Japan. According to Royal Brunei Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Joshua Low, the carrier operates a modern fleet of 12 aircraft, including five Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and seven Airbus A320neos. In 2024, the airline also ordered four new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with delivery expected in 2028. Key growth markets for Royal Brunei Airlines remain Australia, Singapore, London, and Hong Kong.

AERION Chairman Adrien Thominet noted that the partnership enables the management of over 13,000 tons of annual cargo capacity across Royal Brunei Airlines’ network. In the coming years, the parties intend to increase market penetration in the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on pharmaceuticals, perishables, electronics, and e-commerce. Additionally, a dedicated “Control Tower” model will be implemented within the AERION system to facilitate joint capacity planning, yield optimization, and improved demand forecasting accuracy.
