Altynkol station exceeded the OSJD plan for freight transportation between Kazakhstan and China.

Last year, Altynkol station operated under high production loads, ensuring stable and uninterrupted operations at the Kazakhstan-China border crossing. Thanks to its favorable geographic location and modern technical equipment, Altynkol continues to play a key role in shaping international freight flows between Kazakhstan and China. During the year, organizational and technical measures were implemented at the station to improve the efficiency of the transportation process and safety.

The annual transportation plan, agreed upon within the OSJD, was fulfilled ahead of schedule and exceeded targets. Against a target of 14,736,000 tons, the actual freight volume through the Altynkol-Khorgos crossing was 16,134,630 tons, 9% above the target. Import shipments from China reached 8,048,501 tons, against a target of 8 million tons, and export shipments to China increased to 8,086,129 tons, exceeding the target by 20%. On average, the station received 18.4 narrow-gauge trains per day and dispatched 10 broad-gauge trains per day. A total of 6,720 trains were received and 3,797 trains were dispatched during the reporting period, respectively.

Container trains accounted for a significant share of the station’s traffic, with over 3,500 trains handled on routes to Europe, Russia, Central Asia, the Trans-Caucasian Transport Route (TITR), and domestic routes. The station’s management places particular emphasis on developing a productive culture, occupational safety, and supporting employee initiatives, including young professionals. As Eldar Baisakov, Chief Engineer of the Altynkol Station, noted, the station’s professional team and high discipline enable it to confidently tackle new challenges and consistently expand transit capacity on one of the region’s key transport routes.
