APM Terminals Poti’s container throughput grew by 7.5% in early 2026.

During the period from January to April 2026, the APM Terminals Poti facility at the Port of Poti (Georgia) handled 212.1 thousand TEU. This represents a 7.5% increase compared to the same period in previous years and marks the highest volume recorded in recent years. According to port administration data, 54.5 thousand TEU were handled in January, 45.9 thousand TEU in February, and 52.9 thousand TEU in March, while a record volume of 58.6 thousand TEU was reached in April.

The growth in container throughput has been accompanied by an increase in the number of vessel calls. Since the beginning of 2026, the terminal has received 131 container vessels, whereas 107 calls were recorded during the same period in 2025, and 101 in 2024. This underscores the Port of Poti’s growing significance within regional container shipping routes.

Positive trends are also evident in the general cargo segment. During the first four months of 2026, the terminal handled 125.8 thousand tons – a figure exceeding the 2025 volume (118 thousand tons) and significantly surpassing the 2024 level (68 thousand tons). Port administration officials emphasize that these results reflect sustained growth in cargo flow and increased utilization of the terminal’s infrastructure.
