CEVA Logistics has introduced a new “Mass Balance” solution in Europe, aimed at decarbonizing the road transport sector and supporting customers in their transition to more sustainable logistics practices. The new service enables customers to reap the environmental benefits of using low-carbon energy sources, ensuring a transparent and consistent approach across all European routes.
CEVA’s solution is based on the “Mass Balance” principle, which separates the actual low-carbon energy consumption of the company’s vehicles from the environmental benefits for customers. This approach enables CO₂ emission reductions even in regions where low-carbon transport infrastructure is not yet fully developed, and is fully tracked through an auditable process.
The new service is available for all CEVA routes in Europe and offers three levels of greenhouse gas emission reduction: 25%, 50%, and 80% compared to the B7 diesel benchmark. This decision is part of CEVA FORPLANET’s strategy to reduce the environmental impact of its customers’ supply chains through low-carbon transport and circular economy principles.
