DACHSER’s air and sea freight division is undergoing a significant expansion, introducing new fixed Less than Container Load (LCL) connections between the port of Rotterdam and various Asian ports with scheduled departure times. Since late 2023, DACHSER has been establishing weekly LCL export connections from Rotterdam to ports in Shanghai, Nhava Sheva, and Dubai, alongside LCL import connections from Shanghai and Shenzhen to Rotterdam. The company plans to further augment these LCL connections throughout 2024, utilizing its own consolidated containers for the service.
This move benefits customers who don’t require a full container for their shipments, enabling them to share both space and costs. What sets DACHSER apart is its new practice of loading and unloading shipments at its own logistics facility on a weekly basis at fixed times, a departure from relying on co-loaders. By consolidating in its own container, DACHSER streamlines the logistics chain, managing the entire process from pickup in Europe through its network, bundling shipments at a Container Freight Station in a DACHSER warehouse, and handling import operations and delivery to the final destination through its Air & Sea Logistics office. Incoming LCL shipments into Europe are similarly handled, with consolidation containers brought to a DACHSER branch’s CFS for unloading, customs clearance, and final delivery facilitated by the company’s network.
