Euroports launches long-term cooperation with Medcem Cement Group in the port of Antwerp-Bruges.

Port infrastructure operator Euroports officially launched a long-term partnership with Medcem Cement Group, Turkey’s largest cement producer and exporter, at the TA168 Fertilizers & Minerals terminal in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. The partnership marks a significant step in Euroports’ diversification strategy into industrial minerals and strengthens the port’s position as a key European logistics hub for basic commodities. Medcem operates one of the largest cement plants in the world and exports approximately 90% of its production to more than 20 countries.

The first Medcem vessel was successfully handled at the terminal in December 2025, delivering 20,000 tons of CEM I 52.5 N cement. This shipment confirmed Euroports’ infrastructure’s readiness to handle cement cargo and laid the foundation for further development of this partnership. The TA168 terminal provides a full range of logistics services, from vessel unloading using a pneumatic system to storage in closed warehouses, loading via specialized silos, and distribution to Medcem’s customers in the Benelux region. Particular attention is paid to environmental aspects: a jointly adapted pneumatic unloading system ensures strict dust control during cement processing.

The TA168 terminal has a 2,540-meter berthing line, a storage capacity of up to 400,000 tons, and is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. Its multimodal accessibility ensures efficient transportation by road and inland waterway within Belgium and neighboring markets. Medcem notes that its collaboration with Euroports reflects the company’s long-term plans for development in the Benelux region and expansion in Europe. For Euroports, the partnership strengthens its status as an operator specializing in the high-tech and environmentally responsible handling of strategically important cargo.
