Multimodal logistics (MML) is surging, with RCG, Europe’s premier rail logistics specialist, leading the charge. RCG excels in crafting tailored end-to-end logistics solutions, leveraging diverse transportation modes, prioritizing eco-friendly rail travel for the main route and flexible road transport for the first and last mile.
MFD Rail, a wagon hire company dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, is integral to this effort. Their specially designed container carrier wagons, tailored to RCG’s needs, are optimized for the innovative MOBILER configuration. This, coupled with the MOBILER’s hydraulic lifting system, enables seamless goods transfer between trains and trucks without the need for a crane or siding. This progressive logistics solution is particularly utilized for environmentally friendly rail transport of waste, with over 200,000 tons contracted for 2023 and a substantial increase expected in 2024. The initial batch of 100 newly produced container carrier wagons has been seamlessly integrated into waste disposal logistics operations. Looking forward to 2024, an additional 100 specially branded container carrier wagons are set for delivery in the first half of the year.
