Rijeka Gateway has received its first test freight train as part of the terminal’s operational trials.
Operated by ENNA, the 500-metre train was divided into two compositions across two tracks and delivered empty containers for rail-mounted gantry (RMG) crane testing.
The arrival is the beginning of rail process trials at the new terminal, two years after the start of construction. The tests will assess the handling of rail freight under operational conditions and the integration of train operations into the wider container terminal workflow.
