Rail operations have resumed at the Port of Renory in Belgian Liege following the arrival of a 600-metre freight train carrying containers.

In parallel with the container traffic, several thousand tonnes of steel were transported to the port by vessel and transferred directly onto trains. According to the information provided, the logistics chain did not include any road haulage for this flow.

The operations were carried out by Novandi in cooperation with Lineas, BLS Cargo and the Port Autonome de Liège. The handling combined inland waterway transport with rail, using the port infrastructure for transshipment between modes.

The restart of rail services positions the Port of Renory again as a node for combined transport, linking river and rail freight for containerised and bulk cargoes.
