HHLA has launched the modernised Eurobridge intermodal terminal in Batyowo.

European port and logistics group Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has commissioned the modernized Eurobridge intermodal terminal in Batyove. The new facility, which has become part of the company’s cross-border network, aims to strengthen sustainable rail supply chains between Ukraine and EU countries. The terminal provides a direct connection between the Ukrainian rail system and the European logistics infrastructure.

The hub enables the transshipment of container and bulk cargo between the 1520mm and 1435mm gauges, increasing throughput and accelerating cargo handling. The terminal’s capacity reaches 100,000 TEU per year. The facility operates as an open platform for all market participants and supports intermodal operations using both rail and road transport, expanding delivery options in both directions.

HHLA emphasizes that the launch of Eurobridge facilitates Ukraine’s deeper integration into the European logistics system, even in a highly risky environment. Ukrzaliznytsia, for its part, notes that the development of intermodal infrastructure, coupled with port capacity, creates an effective “railway-port-sea” model, integrating land and sea routes, as well as rail networks with different track gauges.
